Our firm is currently the sole member firm in Japan of Multilaw(※1), the ELA(※2) and LAW(※3). In dealing with cross-border cases, we make full use of these global networks to promptly provide one-stop, highest-quality legal services at fair rates in collaboration with top-level local law firms that are familiar with local legal practice. These networks require member firms to undergo rigorous screening at the time of enrollment, and qualification reviews are regularly conducted after enrollment, and therefore the quality of the member firms is kept at the highest level.

Flexibility Ability to Respond to a Variety of Cases, Including Large Cases

Ushijima & Partners has strengths in large-scale, complex cases, where often major law firms represent the other parties. We have a number of lawyers with expertise in various areas, including corporate law, M&A, real estate transactions, construction, environmental law, IT, information management and employment law. Such lawyers possess a wealth of experience in disputes, such as litigation, and that is our distinctive feature. We are willing to undertake, and have enthusiastically undertaken, even cases that were lost in the first instance, aiming to overturn the cases on appeal. We also cater to requests for second opinions regarding cases about which clients cannot be confident in the law firms with which they have already consulted. Even in cases where the largest firms in Tokyo, with expertise and organizational strength, are the adversaries, we have achieved results that satisfy our clients in many cases. We have gained the confidence of our clients, who would say, "We would like to work with Ushijima & Partners because this case will decide our fate." The trust of our clients is our greatest honor. We have a track record of having handled various lawsuits, arbitration and other cases not only in the Kanto, Kansai and Chubu regions, but also nationwide from Hokkaido to Okinawa. Going forward, we will continue to actively respond to the requests of clients in each region. Regarding legal fees, in addition to time-based fees, depending on the circumstances, we may undertake a litigation case only with a contingency fee, so please feel free to contact us.
