Basics of the Whistleblower Protection Act

The Whistleblower Protection Act was enacted in 2004, with the background that many corporate scandals around 2000 had been revealed by whistleblowing one after another, aiming at enhancement of corporate governance by protecting whistleblowers and thereby promoting whistleblowing.

In this seminar, the lecturer explains the whistleblowing protected under the Whistleblowing Protection Act, the contents of protection from disadvantageous treatment under the Act, and measures to be taken by companies.
